The Blackberry Curve 8900 is a smartphone aimed primarily although by no means exclusively at the business end of the market. It has a 2.4 inch screen with a resolution of 480×360 and the capability of displaying 65 thousand colours. It weighs 110 grams and has dimensions of 109 x 60 x 13.5 mm.
The 8900 smartphone has a solid and reassuring feel to it in both the hand and in the pocket, it is not so small as to be awkward and not too large for the average pocket. As a matter of personal opinion the size and weight are perfect for a manual QWERTY keyboard smartphone.
A 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, auto focus and video is included with all Blackberry Curve 8900 models. The camera could be better and that includes the lighting but for snapping it is more than adequate.
Internet connectivity is very good with the Wi-Fi reliable and stable. Emails are likewise very easy partly because of the ergonomic QWERTY keypad. Blackberry has very thoughtfully raised the edge of the keys so that they are easy to find with your thumb.
The design is elegant and classic; it is reminiscent of the Blackberry Bold but smaller and sleeker ensuring that it will have appeal across both age and gender.
A variety of apps are accessible with voice command by default; they can also be accessed by two hard buttons located on either side of the device.
Reliability is as you would expect from any Blackberry Smartphone as the 8900 contains the same rock solid processor and OS as all the others.
For playing music the Curve 900 has AAC and MPC at your disposal, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and the player does all the usual shuffle tracks and set playlists etc.
