HTC hero is a touch screen phone that competes very happily with the iPhone it may not have the same amount of apps but most are free and they are all easy to install.

This candy bar smartphone is very comfortable in the hand or the pocket and has dimensions of 56 x 112 x 14 mm it has a weight of 135 gms. The screen is 81mm wide and has a resolution of 320×480 pixels.

The hero is not the fastest smartphone on the market but it is one of the most enjoyable, it has up to seven displays that you can choose between and a host of widgets for you to choose from. If the seven themes already available are not enough you can always create your own.

For your Facebook and Gmail contacts the Hero is excellent grabbing them from both places and merging them into one contact list.

GPS navigation is supported but Google maps does not work with the multi touch facility.

Your music and image files are moved between the Hero and your pc via usb cable very easily and the 5 mega-pixel camera is superb.

The on screen typing facility is excellent as is the predictive text which ensures problem free messaging and email. A fully integrated email client is also built in.

Web surfing is a real pleasure with the hero and the browser is as stable as the smartphone itself.

It is missing a few ingredients Flash support being thr most notable however everything that is installed on the Hero is a pleasure to use.

The HTC is in our opinion is the best Android smartphone on the market and when you couple this with the fantastic keyboard and excellent Facebook and Gmail integration it is certainly one to consider.

Following many months of rumours, Sprint and HTC’s Android 4G smartphone is finally here. The HTC EVO 4G (originally codenamed “Supersonic”) has a new 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen together with multi touch and also operates HTC’s up-to-date Sense user interface around Android 2.1 mobile OS.

With a very large screen, the EVO is actually perfect for watching online video media. Not just will it service many video codecs, it also possesses High-definition multimedia interface output plus has a kickstand for hands-free movie viewing.

The EVO 4G also is delivered with an 8-megapixel digicam with “HD-capable” video clip capture. Not surprisingly, it is powered with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip, additionally observed within the HTC developed Nexus one mobile.
